Prospective Jurors Share Backgrounds And News Consumption Habits

Donald Trump looks focused.

During the jury selection process for the trial of former President Donald Trump, several potential alternate jurors shared insights into their backgrounds and interests. One individual, a retired high school teacher from New York and a widower with an adult son who is also a teacher, expressed a commitment to upholding the law and making decisions based solely on presented evidence. He enjoys cultural organizations such as the New-York Historical Society.

Another prospective alternate juror works as a consultant, with his wife being a dentist. He stays informed by listening to news summary podcasts and mentioned reading Trump's book, 'The Art of the Deal,' in the past.

A third potential alternate juror, a private equity fund manager with a background in music and entertainment, disclosed having a minority investment in a podcast company associated with Michael Cohen's 'Mea Culpa' podcast. Despite his involvement, he assured that it would not affect his ability to be fair and impartial. Raised in New Jersey, he has interests in fitness, yoga, arts, and culture, and has been involved in Democratic Party voter efforts, including attending the women's march and rally.

Notably, a conversation between the former president and his attorney Todd Blanche ensued following the disclosure of the third juror's participation in voter initiatives and attendance at the women's march. This interaction added a layer of intrigue to the ongoing jury selection process.
