Prince Philip's cousin says Queen Elizabeth 'has lost her world' after his death

Prince Philip's cousin has paid tribute to him after his sad death - calling Her Majesty the Queen's loss "incalculable."

Buckingham Palace today announced her "deep sorrow" following the death of her husband of 73 years, the Duke of Edinburgh, aged 99 this morning.

Now, Lady Myra Butter, a cousin to the Duke of Edinburgh, has shared her sorrow at his loss and her admiration at his dedication to duty.

During ITV's ongoing news coverage since the Duke's death, Lady Myra remarked that "nobody could have done that job" as her Prince Philip did.

When asked what Her Majesty has lost, and what her husband meant to her, Lady Myra quickly replied: "The world, I think. Incalculable.

"There's nobody, in my mind, who could have done that job. Nobody. Dedicated to it, and very intelligent, and youthful.

"He was a step behind walking, but he was never a step behind as a person."

The news of his death broke just after midday today.
