Police van responding to emergency crashed into car in Seacroft

Part of a road was closed in Leeds after a police van responding to an emergency collided with a vehicle.

The police van was travelling along the A6120 Ring Road when it crashed into a woman's black vehicle around 3pm today (Sunday).

No one was seriously injured in the collision, which happened near Limewood Approach, JD Gyms Leeds and KFC in Seacroft.

That part of the road was closed for around two hours while an investigation took place.

Traffic coming from the south was diverted along Coal Road.

A duty inspector for West Yorkshire Police confirmed: "A police vehicle was responding to an incident with blue lights [illuminated] and collided with a member of the public's vehicle.

"No serious injuries to either the officer or the member of the public."

The road, which has a speed limit of 40mph, is now re-opened.
