Police hunt for vandals responsible for spate of graffiti

Police have released pictures of graffiti 'tags' in a bid to identify the vandals responsible.

Officers in Nailsea says there's been an increase in reports of graffiti in Millennium Park, the Nailsea and Tickenham football club ground and other parts of the town.

In response, Avon and Somerset Constabulary say they are targeting their patrols in the affected areas.

Anyone with any information is being asked to get in touch with the police.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Mark Raby said: "In the past fortnight we’ve had an increase in reports of graffiti in Millennium Park, the Nailsea and Tickenham football club ground on Fryth Way, Parish Brook Road and other parts of the town.

"This sort of tagging is not acceptable and we're targeting our patrols in the affected areas in response.

"I'd ask anyone with information about who is responsible for causing this damage to our community's facilities to contact us."

PS Raby added that officers want to hear from anyone who witnesses suspicious or anti-social behaviour as it happens.

Anyone who can help can get in touch through www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact or call 101 quoting reference 5220104517.

Alternatively, people can ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. They never ask for names or trace calls.
