Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s daughter North West has officially made her Instagram debut. And they said silly season couldn’t get any sillier!
The 12-year-old joined the platform yesterday under the username ‘@northwest’, and has already amassed 336,000 followers at the time of writing. And the girl of the hour? She’s following absolutely no one.
Goddamn, this girl is a star. Not even her parents got a follow.
She didn’t hesitate to start posting on Instagram, either. Her first — and only post so far — is a blurry photo of her throwing up peace signs in a black outfit and some boots decked out in chains, with what look like Christmas lights in the background. The photo had a very exciting, very original caption that read: “first post”.
She also posted an Instagram Story running around with two of her friends in the snow, dancing and lipsyncing in matching wigs and bougie Balenciaga snow outfits.

This is North’s second social media account, the first one being a TikTok she shares with — and is managed by — Kim. North currently posts a bunch of dances, outfit videos and content with her mum on over on TikTok — stuff you’d expect from a 12-year-old — so we have a feeling her Instagram will be a slightly more curated version of that.
While we’re excited to see what antics North gets up to, we likely won’t be getting exclusive Kardashian tea straight from the source. North’s Instagram bio reads “account managed by parents”, so you best believe her content will be thoroughly supervised.
However, “parents” being plural comes as a bit of a surprise, considering Kanye wasn’t thrilled about his daughter signing up to TikTok back in 2021.
“I just got off the phone with Kim. I told her to stop antagonising me with this TikTok thing … I am her father. I know y’all don’t respect fathers,” Kanye said in a 2022 video he shared on his Instagram.
“I said I’m not allowing my daughter to be used by TikTok, to be used by Disney. I have a say so.”
His comments came after his then-eight-year-old daughter made a TikTok singing along to Machine Gun Kelly’s song “Emo Girl” with her cousin Penelope Disick.
Hey, maybe he had a change of heart?
And if we get a peek into what the Kardashians are doing for Christmas from North’s POV, I’ll be stoked.
