New RV Trailer Boosts EV Range While Towing For A Lot Less Than The Competition

  • California-based Evotrex unveiled its first travel trailer, the PG5.
  • It has a Tesla-style NACS port, an LFP battery pack, an electric motor and a gas engine that acts as a generator.
  • The RV off-grid trailer can charge an EV or keep the lights on inside a house thanks to its vehicle-to-home feature.

Evotrex, a newcomer in the RV game, has unveiled its first trailer at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. The Evotrex-PG5 was announced late last year, but now we have all the details on what the startup calls “the world’s first power-generated RV trailer built for elevated off-grid travel.”

That’s a big claim, and I’ll take it with a grain of salt. That said, Evotrex’s first trailer is here to make a splash in the RV community with impressive specs and the lowest price of all the electrically assisted living trailers out there.

Let’s get the specs out of the way first. Two versions of the PG5 trailer are available, and both come with a 43-kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, a dual-axle setup powered by a single electric motor, and a gas-powered Horizon generator. The electric motor can assist while towing, limiting the range loss for the vehicle in front, and the gas engine can kick in whenever it’s needed to recharge the battery or keep the lights on.

Evotrex claims that its trailer is compatible with vehicle-to-home (V2H), which means it can act as a home generator when the lights go out. It can provide energy from its battery or from the gas engine to the house’s main electrical panel. With a full gas tank and a full battery, a total of 270 kilowatt-hours of energy is available, according to the startup.

There’s a Tesla-style port and a NEMA 13-50 AC power outlet at the rear, which can export up to 12 kW of power to anything from appliances to other EVs. On the more expensive version of the trailer, a second NACS port is placed at the front, and it can export up to 60 kW of DC power to an EV, but that power comes directly from the gas generator.

The top-spec model also comes with 1.5 kW of solar panels on the roof, an electrically powered roofed patio at the rear, a powered awning on the side, forged wheels, a premium interior and priority delivery.

According to Evotrex, the base PG5 trailer has an 8,350-pound dry weight and a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 9,500 lbs, while the more expensive model weighs 8,900 lbs and has a GVWR of 9,900 lbs. Both measure 344 inches long, 96 in wide and 78.75 inches tall.

Inside, there’s a 60-gallon fresh water tank, a 30-gallon grey water tank and a 30-gallon black water tank. The trailer can sleep four adults in two 80x60-inch beds–one is a convertible bed and the other is a residential-style queen bed. There’s a full dry bath with an instant tankless water heater, a 17,000 BTU heater, a dual-burner induction cooktop, a 10 cubic feet refrigerator and freezer, an all-in-one microwave oven airfrier, and a 48-inch projector and screen set.

The Evotrex-PG5 is currently the most affordable electrically assisted RV trailer in the United States. That said, it doesn’t mean it’s cheap–as apartments on wheels rarely are. The base Pioneer model starts from $119,990, with deliveries scheduled for the second half of 2027. The fully loaded Atlas, which is expected to reach customers in the first half of next year, tops out at $159,990. Evotrex is taking $500 refundable pre-orders now.

That’s a lot of money, but it undercuts competitors in a big way. The most affordable Pebble Flow trailer with an electric motor starts from $139,500, while Lightship’s AE.1 Panos–its most affordable model with electric assist–starts from $151,000.
