Mexico City Authorities Announce Two Arrests on the Fede Dorcaz Murder Investigation

Authorities in Mexico City announced on November 24 that two men have been arrested and linked to the homicide of actor and model Fede Dorcaz, who also served as a collaborator on the television program Hoy. The suspects, identified as Geovanni "N" and Andy "N" remain in preventive detention while the investigation continues.

According to the Fiscalía General de Justicia de la Ciudad de México (FGJ-CDMX), the crime occurred on October 9, 2025, when Dorcaz was driving a rented vehicle on the Periférico in the Miguel Hidalgo borough of Mexico City. He was reportedly intercepted by individuals on motorcycles and shot. Authorities say the incident stemmed from an attempted robbery rather than a targeted assassination, reported El Heraldo de México.

In their official release, the FGJ-CDMX specified that Andy "N" was detained on October 17 after a pursuit stemming from a robbery of a pedestrian; during the chase he was injured and taken into custody. Geovanni "N" was apprehended around November 20 during coordinated raids across the Álvaro Obregón and Miguel Hidalgo boroughs, where police found a firearm and three mobile phones believed tied to the attack. The judge overseeing the case set a two-month period for additional investigation, and ordered both suspects held at the Reclusorio Preventivo Varonil Sur.

Investigators say that four individuals were involved in the attack; the two detained are believed to be part of a gang specializing in robberies on major avenues, and the incident appears to be connected to the vehicle rental and route rather than a pre-planned celebrity hit. A representative for the SSC-CDMX noted that surveillance footage and vehicle routing helped identify the suspects quickly.

Dorcaz, originally from Argentina, had recently relocated to Mexico and was set to participate in the reality competition series Las Estrellas Bailan en Hoy, alongside his partner, content creator Mariana Ávila. His sudden death left colleagues and the entertainment industry mourning. A statement from the show confirmed he was scheduled to begin filming before the attack.

This case adds to a troubling pattern of violence affecting public figures in the capital. It also raises broader questions around security for freelancers, entertainers and public-facing talent working in Mexico City. The FGJ-CDMX emphasised there will be no impunity, and pledged to carry the investigation through to its conclusion.

Family members of Dorcaz have asked for privacy but offered thanks for the public support and expressed hope that the legal process will bring closure. "We demand justice," they said in a release, while acknowledging the arrest marks an important step.

Some legal analysts publicised that the two-month period granted for investigation could be extended if further forensic work or international cooperation is required. The FGJ-CDMX must now present evidence such as ballistics, the vehicle rental contract, communications between suspects and witness testimonies. Meanwhile, the defense may challenge elements of the arrest warrants or link to the alleged robbery gang's broader network.
