- Matvei Rumiantsev has been sentenced to four years in prison for assaulting a woman in an attack witnessed by Barron Trump, son of Donald Trump, via a video call.
- Rumiantsev, 23, drunkenly beat the woman for approximately an hour, dragging her by her hair, after becoming jealous of her growing friendship with Mr Trump, 19, whom she met through social media.
- During the assault, Rumiantsev answered a FaceTime call from Mr Trump on the victim's phone, turning the camera to show her crying on the floor, prompting Mr Trump to call 999 from the US.
- The woman also managed to call 999, pleading for help, while Rumiantsev, described as a 'trained fighter,' repeatedly struck her.
- Rumiantsev was convicted of assault and perverting the course of justice for attempting to persuade the woman to withdraw her allegations through a phone call and a letter from prison, with the judge noting his lack of repentance.
