One loyal Wetherspoons customer has set himself a challenge to collect a single chip from every branch in the UK.
Boris Bennett shared a hilarious image of a folder with nine single chips organised in clear pouches along with labels.
The labels have the specific v enue the chips were bought from.
Boris shared the image on the popular Wetherspoons paltry chip count Facebook group - where dedicated fans rate the quality and quantity of their chip orders.
The self-employed man shared an image of an empty plate alongside his catalogued chip collection telling other customers about his challenge to collect a chip from every JD Wetherspoons pub in the UK.
As of June 2021, there are 925 JD Wetherspoons pubs in the UK.
He wrote: "I bring you this. A healthy 38 chips in the Spinning Mule in Bolton this afternoon.
"I am currently on a mission to collect and record 1 chip from every Wetherspoons in Britain, and here is what I have got so far.
"If you are wondering 'does that bloke really walk around with a trading cards collection book full of chips?' The answer is yes, yes I do."
The post has more than 7,800 likes, 2,800 comments and 800 shares and many found the idea hilarious.
One wrote: "This is peak paltry chip count."
Another fan wrote: "This brought a tear to my eye BRAVO!"
Some expressed concern with Boris' challenge while others offered tips and to help add to his chip collection.
Another added: "Will they not just go mouldy by the time you fill it up?"
One said: "Side note, these are gonna mould to death by the time you finish. Sooooo...
"Equal parts borax and salt. Send them for a dry bath. Vent your pouches to stop moisture. Get silica packets. You'll preserve your chips then and your collection."
Another wrote: "Do you have a postal address that we can send to add to the collection?"
The Mirror contacted Boris to find out more.
A spokesperson for JD Wetherspoon said: "Wetherspoon has numerous fans who love to visit all of the pubs and record their visits. Others take photos of the carpet, but this gentleman is one of a kind.
"We wish him well in his venture and hope he manages to achieve his aim."
