Holly Willoughby baffles This Morning viewers by crying over Harry and Meghan's 'best bits'

Holly Willoughby was close to tears on today's This Morning after watching a montage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 'best bits'.

The This Morning presenter struggled to contain her emotions while looking at how the couple's romance blossomed over the years in a series of clips.

After watching the emotional footage, there was a sadness in Holly's eyes as she confessed: "I can't bear it."

This Morning viewers struggled to understand why Holly was 'crying' - with many admitting they were pleased for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Holly admitted she "felt emotional" while watching Prince Harry break his silence on 'Megxit' in a moving speech for his charity Sentebale in London.

Harry said the UK would always be his home and the place he loves in a moving speech last night but he had 'no other option; but to leave for North America.

On his confession, Holly said: "When I watched him speaking it actually made me feel quite emotional. I felt it.

"You could feel it was a choice they made out of their hands. You felt it was a choice they made to survive a little bit."

This Morning viewers took to Twitter after watching the emotional Harry and Meghan montage.

"Why the hell was Holly crying? Can't believe people are upset and even offended by their decisions. I am happy for them and really hope it all works out," said one viewer.

Another added: "#ThisMorning just had a REALLY cringey video montage of #HarryandMeghan & Holly Willoughby was crying! WTF?"

"Oh my god! Their best bits?!?! WTAF?!!," said a third.

A fourth asked: "Why did #ThisMorning need to show a best bits montage of Harry and Meghan? They weren't evicted from a reality show, you know!"

Holly was also joined in the studio by royal photographer Arthur Edwards, who claimed Meghan had "driven" Harry to detach himself from the royal family.

Arthur said: "From that speech last night Harry's sadness came over. Harry is sad, the Queen is sad, the Prince Of Wales is sad, I'm sad.

The only person who isn't sad and seems to be having a good time is Meghan. I think she's driven this."

Arthur praised the late Princess Diana for carrying on working in the UK after losing her HRH title.

He questioned what Harry would do in North America because he is still a "prince of the realm" and not a showbiz star.

He added: "I want him back certainly as I think he is ace."

*This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
