Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) caused an uproar during a House Rules Committee meeting on Wednesday, accusing Republicans who call themselves "pro-life" of wanting children "to be born, go to school and get shot."
"They say they're pro life because they want the baby to be born, go to school and get shot in the school. Die in the school, die in the streets," Frost said during debate on the Republican's big, beautiful bill.

Rep. Austin Scott (R-GA) called to strike the comment amid an eruption of arguments in the room, prompting Committee Chair Virginia Foxx (R-NC) to bang her gavel as she tore into Frost.
"You will renounce," Foxx commanded. "I meant every word," Frost shot back.
"You are not going to come into this room and impugn our integrity," Foxx scolded. "We are pro-life people from conception to natural death, most of us are. And you don't come in here and say we want to preserve life so people can get shot."
The tense moment underscored the deep divisions in the debate over the sweeping GOP legislation, which Democrats warn will slash health and nutrition aid, while Republicans argue it restores fiscal responsibility.
Foxx ultimately decided to keep Frost's comments in the official record. "It might be good to leave your words, because that's how you feel."
Scott withdrew his motion. "That's fine, let them know how they feel," he agreed.
The exchange came as the committee met to set debate rules for the bill, which House Republicans hope to pass ahead of the July 4 holiday.
