US President Trump is set to make another announcement from the White House at 10:00 PM ET. This was shared an hour after Trump's last speech, with reporters who were present being called back. The White House website also stated that Trump is set to make another announcement, informing people that they will be 'live again shortly.'

During the address on Sunday, 14 December, the President also condemned the terrorist attack at Bondi Beach and commented on the mass shooting at Brown University, creating a surreal juxtaposition of festive celebration and national mourning.

Trump Vows Retaliation

Speaking from the White House, Trump confirmed the deaths of three Americans in Syria. 'We had three great patriots terminated by bad people, and not the Syrian government; it was ISIS,' said Trump during the event, adding that two of three Americans that were injured were already discharged from the hospital. Trump had previously promised a 'very serious retaliation' for the attack.

US military officials said that the ambush was carried out by a lone gunman associated with the extremist group. The soldiers were reportedly conducting a 'key leader engagement' with local partners as part of Operation Inherent Resolve. Authorities from Iowa also confirmed that the soldiers who were killed were part of the state's National Guard. They were among 1,800 troops that were deployed to the Middle East in May.

Condemnation of Bondi Beach Shooting and Boasting Administration Records

Trump also mentioned the Bondi Beach shooting, which took place on the same day. Two alleged gunmen opened fire during a Hanukkah celebration in the area, killing at least 16 and injuring 29 others.

'We're here to celebrate Christmas and – I think today we can first say loudly, we celebrate Hanukkah. That was such a horrible attack, that was a purely antisemitic attack,' said Trump.

The President also used the address to highlight his administration's economic performance.

'To really celebrate the new year, we have an amazing couple of achievements. We've taken in more investment money than any country has ever taken in by four times,' said Trump.

Comments on Brown University Shooting

Trump addressed another shooting that took place at Brown University in Rhode Island that led to two deaths and nine others getting injured. Prior to speaking to the press, Trump shared his comments on the shooting in a post on Truth Social.

'I have been briefed on the shooting that took place at Brown University in Rhode Island. The FBI is on the scene. The suspect is in custody. God bless the victims and the families of the victims!' wrote Trump, who would later retract some of his comments in another post when he was corrected on whether the suspect was in custody.

In comments to the press, Trump said Brown University was one of the greatest schools in the world and that 'things can happen.' Trump also called for prayers for the nine people who were injured in the shooting.

The shooting at Brown University occurred at its Barus and Holley engineering building during a final exam review. The suspected shooter was a man in his 30s and was not enrolled in the university. Authorities are still investigating the incident, with the university postponing exams and projects.
