Donald Trump’s motorcade departed Trump Tower and is currently en route to a second day of jury selection in his historic criminal case. The proceedings on Monday involved extensive discussions regarding the admissibility of evidence in court.
Shortly after 2:30 p.m. ET, potential jurors were sworn in to undergo questioning. Out of the initial group of 96 individuals, more than half were excused from serving on the jury after expressing concerns about their ability to be fair and impartial. Approximately 50 people were released for this reason, while several others were excused for various other reasons.
At the conclusion of Monday's session, only nine jurors remained in the jury box. These individuals will return for further questioning before a new panel of potential jurors is brought in for additional scrutiny.
The court is scheduled to reconvene at 9:30 a.m. ET for the continuation of the jury selection process. The proceedings are expected to proceed with the careful consideration of each potential juror to ensure a fair and impartial trial for all parties involved.
