Democrat Senator clashes with acting AG Todd Blanche: ‘You’re acting like Trump’s personal attorney’

A Democrat Senator accused acting Attorney General Todd Blanche of acting like the president’s personal attorney over a new ‘slush fund’ to give taxpayer money to Trump allies and acolytes.

Delaware’s Chris Van Hollen accused the head of the Department of Justice, who had previously served as Donald Trump’s attorney as he fought criminal cases while out of office, as acting in the interests of Trump in the setting up of a $1.776B fund to compensate so-called victims of Democrat ‘weaponization’ of the DOJ.

The proposal has alarmed critics and watchdog groups who fear the Trump administration is effectively handing American taxpayers’ dollars to the president’s allies after an unprecedented series of pardons and commutations for his supporters.
