Cigarettes and coffee: Pentagon discloses consumption habits of US troops in Iran

The Pentagon has given an insight into US troops consumption habits during the Iran war, following the announcement of a two-week ceasefire.

On Tuesday (7 April), Donald Trump announced that attacks will be temporarily paused as Iran agreed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz during the truce.

At a Pentagon briefing on Wednesday (8 April), General Dan Caine revealed the amount of supplies consumed by US forces since the conflict began on 28 February.

He claimed that the operation has so far involved the consumption of “more than six million meals, more than 950,000 gallons of coffee, and more than two million energy drinks”.

General Caine added that lots of nicotine has also been consumed. “I’m not saying we have a problem,” he laughed.
