Celtic vs Rangers fixture switch as crunch clash returns to traditions for Parkhead title showdown

Next month's clash between Celtic and Rangers has been moved to a High Noon showdown for the third Premiership clash of the season between the two rivals.

The game had been pencilled in for Saturday, March 20 with a 3,00pm kick-off but that was always likely to change when broadcasters Sky made their intentions known.

And the midday kick-off will now take place the following day on Sunday, March 21 - the first Sunday kick-off between the sides this season.

That has long been the preferred date for the contest but the first clash of the season was booked for the Saturday and the duel at Ibrox on January 2 was also on the same day of the week.

Rangers know they will get the chance to win the league at the home of their rivals if both teams keeps winning in the coming weeks.

But there's even a scenario where Steven Gerrard 's side could be crowned champions before crossing the city and are presented with a guard of honour.

Rangers are also looking for four consecutive derby wins for the first time since the 2008 when Walter Smith 's team managed it over Gordon Strachan's side.
