British couple from London feared to have been on crashed Air India flight named

A British couple believed to have been onboard the crashed Air India flight have been named.

Jamie Meek, 45, and his husband Fiongal Greenlaw, 39, from London, filmed themselves joking and laughing just hours before their flight departed after a trip to India.

A Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, bound for London Gatwick, was engulfed in a huge fireball just minutes after taking off from Ahmedabad’s Airport at 10.08am on Thursday.

Officials confirmed the aircraft was carrying at least 230 passengers, as well as 10 cabin crew and two pilots. There were 53 British passengers on board the flight.

Authorities have confirmed that at least 200 people were killed in the devastating crash with the death toll expected to rise.

In a video, which appears to be taken at Ahmedabad airport, the Greenlaw-Meeks reminisced about their holiday as they waited to board their flight home.

“Goodbye India,” Mr Greenlaw-Meek can be heard saying, before asking Mr Meek “What’s your biggest take away Jamie?”.

Mr Meek can then be heard responding with: “I don’t know”, with Mr Greenlaw-Meek laughing and responding with “Yeah fascinating, great, thanks for your contribution.”

The couple then joked about losing patience with your partner, before Mr Greenlaw-Meek says they are “going back happily happily happily calm.”

The couple run a wellness and healthy lifestyle company called the Wellness Foundry in south London and Ramsgate, which offers psychic readings, tarot, reiki and yoga.

They have been together since 2019, getting married in various ceremonies, including one in Las Vegas, in 2022.

On Tuesday, the Greenlaw-Meeks posted on their social media pages from their boutique hotel in the Indian city, The House of MG.

Mr Greenlaw-Meek appeared on ITV’s This Morning earlier this year to speak about people’s auras and what they mean.

They described the appearance on Instagram as being their “biggest gig so far”, adding that it was “very nerve-wracking”.

A source told Reuters that there were at least 217 adults on board and 11 children onboard the Air India flight.

British-Indian man Vishwash Kumar Ramesh survived the crash, Indian media reports.

Pictures show debris on fire, with thick black smoke rising up into the sky in an area near the airport.
