A string of Ayr shops have now re-opened.
Subway, Bensons for Beds, Wren Kitchens and Timpson recently opened their doors in the town for the first time since March.
Heathfield Retail Park was the busiest it's been for weeks after Bensons for Beds and Wren Kitchens re-opened.
And there were more signs of life in the town centre as well as Timpson and Subway opened their doors.
It's understood the Subway at Ayr Central Shopping Centre re-opened on Wednesday while Bensons for Beds opened for the first time since March yesterday. The Ponden Home Interiors store within Bensons remains closed for now.
According to Ayr residents none of the stores are yet to form any queues as "no one knows" they opened back up.
One shopper at Heathfield told Ayrshire Live : "I don't think many people are actually aware some of the shops have re-opened.
"For that reason the shops have been fairly quiet but I suspect there will be big queues this weekend."
Ten Matalan stores across Scotland re-opened on Friday but a spokesperson confirmed to Ayrshire Live: "This does not include the Ayr store and I am afraid we do not have a confirmed date for that store yet."
Government guidance changed on May 29 to include homeware as essential retail.
High Street shops will reopen in England on Monday but there is still no date for non-essential retail shops to open in Scotland.
