LUCKNOW: August ended on a high note with close to 40,000 people getting the jab against Covid-19 in the city on Tuesday.
Total 39,052 people took their first or second dose at 120 centres. The figure was the fourth highest single-day vaccination since the start of the mass campaign in January this year.
In fact, the top five highest single-day inoculations so far have taken place in August. While 93,436 people were jabbed on August 27, about 80,412 took the shot on August 3, around 51,326 on August 16 and 29,112 on August 5.
Of the 36 lakh adult population of Lucknow, over 7.2 lakh are now fully vaccinated, while 12.5 lakh have taken one shot.
Meanwhile, four Covid-19 cases were recorded in the past 48 hours.
Drive to resume at Sadar Gurdwara
Covid-19 vaccinations will resume at Sadar Gurdwara from September 2. Vaccination will be carried out from 10am to 4pm on all working days. “About 500 doses will be administered daily with the support of district administration and health authorities,” said Harpal Singh Jaggi, president of the gurdwara committee.
