Attorneys To Use Peremptory Strikes More Cautiously In Trial

Donald Trump looks focused.

Attorneys from both sides are proceeding with caution as they navigate the jury selection process, given that prosecutors and Donald Trump's legal team each have only four peremptory strikes remaining. Peremptory strikes allow attorneys to dismiss potential jurors without providing a reason, with each side initially having a total of 10 such strikes.

Earlier in the week, both the prosecution and Trump's lawyers utilized six of their peremptory strikes to eliminate certain individuals from the jury pool. This strategic move leaves them with a limited number of strikes for the remaining selection process.

Legal analyst Scannell pointed out that the reduced number of peremptory strikes will compel the attorneys to be more discerning in their choices. They will now need to carefully consider which jurors to strike, potentially expediting the overall selection process.
