The Cincinnati Bengals are arguably the quietest team in the AFC North this offseason.
Impressive, considering the Bengals are breaking in a massive new coaching staff for the first time in 16 years.
But Cincinnati’s rivals have all sorts of developments surrounding them right now. Instead of scrambling to keep up during the slow summer months, let’s update the most topical story surrounding each AFC North team.
Baltimore Ravens: All Things Lamar Jackson

The Ravens lost droves of defensive talent this offseason, so much of the team’s success might come down to Jackson under center.
But Jackson completed less than 60 percent of his passes last year and ended up leading the team in rushing attempts, so his development as a passer is critical.
But by all accounts, Jackson has been steadily progressing in this area, especially after working on mechanics with noted outside sources. At the least, it’s something to monitor.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Antonio Brown’s Lasting Impact

The Steelers are infamous over the past few seasons for plenty of internal drama.
That stigma isn’t going to leave easily, especially with reporters honed in on the Antonio Brown angle still.
Most recently, Ben Roethlisberger said “He made me a better quarterback” and JuJu Smith-Schuster had nothing but nice things to say, too.
But the real story in Pittsburgh will unfold on the field, where Smith-Schuster will have to step up without Brown on the field and first-round product James Washington will have to take a leap.
If not, the questions might only get worse.
Cleveland Browns: Baker Mayfield Drama

The hype around the Browns almost always seemed too good to be true — the offseason moves seemed amazing on paper…but it all has to mesh.
This got off to an odd start during minicamp when Mayfield decided to weigh-in on the contract/trade status of running back Duke Johnson. That got the sophomore passer in some hot water with veterans on the team.
Does this mean the Browns will stink next year? Of course not. This is probably overblown by the media too, with veterans likely saying something along the lines of “you don’t have to comment on everything, especially a teammate’s contract status.”
While it’s a learning moment for Mayfield, the outside lesson is the Browns will also face an up-and-down summer regardless of hype.
