The BBC has appointed Lord Dyson, former Master of the Rolls and head of civil justice, to lead an independent investigation into Martin Bashir’s Panorama interview with Diana, Princess of Wales.

The BBC has said the full-scale probe into the interview conducted by journalist Martin Bashir with Princess Diana in 1995 will be led by former Supreme Court Judge, Lord Dyson.

Online fashion retailer Boohoo has beefed up its board by appointing a new independent non-executive director who will chair the audit committee.

The Duke of Cambridge, who is understood to have "tentatively welcomed" the new BBC probe, says the news of an independent investigation is a step in the right direction.
