A woman is fighting for life in hospital after being hit by a van in north Manchester.
Emergency services were called to Woodlands Road in Cheetham Hill just after 11.30am on Thursday.
It is understood the woman - whose age has not yet been released - was hit by a white Vauxhall Vivaro near the junction with Cardinal Street by the railway bridge.
She suffered 'life-threatening' injuries and was taken to hospital by paramedics.
The road was taped off for several hours while investigation work was carried out.

Officers could be seen laying evidence markers at the scene and taking photographs.
It remained shut as of 3pm.

A spokesman for GMP said: "Police were called to Woodlands Road, Cheetham Hill at 11.37am on September 5 to a report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.
"A female pedestrian was in collision with white Vauxhall Vivaro.

"She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
"Woodlands Road is closed at the junctions of Cardinall Street and Greenhill Road.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
