Wild stag interrupts Scots couples breakfast after getting trapped in snow covered garden

A wild stag interrupted a Scots couple's breakfast after becoming trapped in their garden.

Doreen Wood was stunned to see the massive creature appear at her window in Braemar, Aberdeenshire while in the kitchen with her husband Brian.

The animal had wandered into the village after becoming hungry and looking for food in the thick snow.

Doreen snapped some quick pictures before chucking out some carrots for it to enjoy at around 9am.

But the wild animal couldn’t find his way out of the garden and instead made itself a bed from grass and stayed all day.

It wasn’t until after 4pm Doreen and Brian managed to open the back gate to free the animal.

Doreen said: “We were just eating our breakfast when we saw it come around the side of our house and look through the french windows.

“He had just squeezed past our car to get up the driveway and into the garden at about 9am.

“We are used to seeing stags around the area but the snow makes them hungry and come right into the village looking for food.

“We were careful not to go outside and spook it, they have big antlers and charge hard if worried.

“Although he didn’t seem bothered at all he was coming right up to see inside and watched us.

“He ended up getting himself stuck in the garden and we managed to eventually open the gate at the back of the garden to let him out.

“But he sat in the garden all day and even made a wee bed out of grass.

“We put out some carrots for him, We weren't sure what to give him but put some carrots out.

“He looked like he was in really good condition, really was very handsome.”
