July 27--The Sox completed a four-game series sweep for the first time since 2010 with a 2-1 victory over the Indians on Sunday at Progressive Field. A day after hitting his first career home run, rookie Carlos Sanchez hit his second, a solo shot against Indians right-hander Danny Salazar that traveled 412 feet into the center-field stands.
Pivotal at-bat
With runners on first and second with two outs in the seventh, Melky Cabrera hit an RBI single to left to push the Sox ahead 2-0.
On the mound
Carlos Rodon pitched a career-high 62/3 innings. He held the Indians scoreless on five hits with no walks and nine strikeouts.
Key managerial decision
Robin Ventura pulled Rodon with runners on the corners and two outs in the seventh. Jake Petricka entered and struck out Roberto Perez to keep the Indians scoreless.
