Watch Lulu get mobbed by fans in Newcastle before singing with Take That in Middlesbrough

She was a star attraction at Take That's huge gig in Middlesbrough on Saturday night but before that legendary singer Lulu was mobbed by fans in Newcastle.

The singer responsible for pop classic Shout joined Gary, Mark and Howard on stage for Relight My Fire for , however it was up the road on Tyneside that she generated the most excitement.

The 70 year old performer was enjoying a performance from one of Newcastle's many buskers on Saturday afternoon when people started recognising her and promptly asked her for selfies as you can see in the video above.

As more and more people started clocking onto the fact that it was the Scottish songstress dancing in front of them a small crowd formed around her, but she was more than happy to mingle and take photos.

Uploading a video of her impromptu meet and greet to her Instagram, Lulu wrote "Having a bop in btw my shop in Newcastle ... bloody love being on tour.."

Take That

Her followers were quick to comment, with one reacting "Aww absolutely fab... time for everyone n this is why we all love ya hope I meet u 1 day," and another writing "Poor Lulu you just wanted an impromptu bop and you kept getting mithered for selfies."

One of the girls in the clip posted underneath "I’m on this video, thank you for the pic x" and another selfie grabber commented "Thank you Lulu for helping me with the selfie yesterday, you are a lovely lady and still a great singer."
