Warriors’ Kevin Durant will not play Saturday night vs. Thunder

Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant will not play Saturday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, head coach Steve Kerr said at shootaround.

Durant did not play Wednesday against the Houston Rockets due to the injury. The former Thunder player rolled his right ankle versus the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night.

Durant practiced with the Warriors on Friday and it appeared as though he was trending toward playing on Saturday but Kerr wanted to give Durant a few more days of rest.

Durant is averaging 27.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.2 blocks in 65 games this season with the Warriors. In the two previous games against OKC this season, Durant posted 27 points, 11 rebounds, 4.5 assists and two blocks per game.

With Durant expected to sit out, the Thunder enter the matchup as favorites to win. The two teams have split the season series to this point with the final game of the regular season set for Saturday night.
