UK weather: New area covered by Met Office weather warning as snow possible

The Met Office has updated its weather warning for rain - changing the area covered.

Bristol is now covered by the warning area both tomorrow (November 13) and on Thursday (November 14).

The first warning covers a smaller area - passing across South Wales and areas of the South West.

However, the following day the warning areas has been changed so it moves lower, covering Bristol - meaning less of the north of England will be affected than first thought.

Some hill snow in western areas is possible.

When the weather warnings are in place

  • 5pm until 11.59pm on Wednesday (November 13)
  • 12am until 11.45pm on Thursday (November 14)

What to expect

Don't forget your brolly (Dean Martin)

Persistent rain may bring some disruption to transport. Over western areas, some hill snow is possible, with local accumulations of a few cm possible, for example over the higher routes in Wales. Rainfall totals of 10-20 mm are likely, with some spots potentially seeing totals of 40-60 mm.

  • Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely
  • Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer
  • Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer
