'Explosions' have been heard after a large fire broke out at a recycling centre in Tyseley, sending huge plumes of smoke across Birmingham.
The West Midlands Fire Service was called to reports of a fire at around 8am.
Around 50 firefighters, from ten crews, have been sent to tackle the blaze.
'Explosions' were heard, witnesses say, before footage captured dark clouds billowing from the unit, according to Birmingham Live.
The smoke could be seen for several miles across the city on Saturday morning as firefighters tackled the inferno.
Residents in the local area were being warned to keep all windows shut to keep the smoke at bay.
Investigations into the cause are ongoing, West Midlands Fire Service said.
The service says the first appliances were on scene within four minutes, with a total of 13 crews now tackling the fire.
A spokesperson confirmed: "We are just attending a large fire in Redfern Road, Tyseley.
"We have requested ten appliances. The first call was at 8.03am."
Police have warned members of the public to avoid two nearby roads amid closures.
West Midlands Police said: "Roads are closed in the area so please avoid Wharfdale road and Redfern Road."
The smoke could be seen for several miles across the city this morning.
A resident in Chelmsley Wood captured a photo from her home, some six miles away from the Tyseley fire.
