Two more people have died with coronavirus in Greater Manchester's hospitals

Another two people have died in Greater Manchester's hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus.

The region's hospital death toll now stands at 2,191, latest NHS daily figures show.

In the last 24 hours, one coronavirus-related death was recorded at the Stockport NHS Foundation Trust

Another was recorded at the Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Across the North West four more people died from Covid-19.

The total number of coronavirus deaths at hospital trusts in Greater Manchester, as of Thursday, September 3 stands at:

  • Bolton NHS Foundation Trust - 232
  • Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust - 9
  • Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust - 452
  • NHS Nightingale Hospital North West - 6

Nationally a further 15 people who tested positive for the virus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,585.

Patients were aged between 50 and 95 years old. All had known underlying health conditions.

Each day the NHS in England publishes the number of deaths recorded by each hospital trust in the last 24-hour period.

These are deaths where the person had tested positive for the virus or where COVID-19 was mentioned on their death certificate.

NHS England's daily figures sometimes include previously uncounted deaths and they do not include deaths in care homes or community settings.
