Fiorentina have pulled out of the race to sign Giovani Lo Celso from Tottenham.
The Argentine midfielder is one of several fringe players Antonio Conte is keen to move on in the final weeks of the transfer window following six summer arrivals at Tottenham Stadium.
Spurs are linked with Nicolo Zaniolo but may need to create space and funds to give the green light to further signings, although Lo Celso to Fiorentina will not be one such avenue after Viola sporting director Daniel Prade made clear his stance on the player.
He told reporters: “We have never talked to Tottenham [about Lo Celso], there is really nothing.”
Lazio, Napoli and Villarreal have all been linked with Lo Celso this summer, the Yellow Submarine having taken him on a successful loan spell in the second half of last season.
Fiorentina are also reportedly in contract talks to renew Nikola Milenkovic’s stay at the Serie A club, the Serbian defender having been touted as a target for both Spurs and Arsenal.
