A highly anticipated new restaurant is finally here with the opening of Ting Thai Caravan in Glasgow city centre.
Glasgow Live has reported on the arrival of the popular Edinburgh Thai food's first Glasgow venue over recent months, with the owner's search for a suitable space going back a couple of years.
This February, the green light was eventually given by council planners for Ting Thai to take occupation of the former Patisserie Valerie unit on West Nile Street.
This was after Glasgow City Council rejected Ting Thai Caravan's proposal to move into the former Fopp unit on Byres Road in the west end, back in 2019.

And today they've opened their doors for the very first time after operating a delivery-only service in recent weeks.
Announcing the news on social media this morning, they commented: "Yes yes yes! Ting Thai Caravan Glasgow is now open! 19 West Nile Street. Pop in and check it out!"
As part of the application for the city centre unit, owners explained what Glaswegians could expect from the potential new restaurant, commenting: "Ting Thai, which recently launched a third Edinburgh restaurant in Lothian Road to excellent reviews puts their success down to authentic Thai cooking from chef family Ting and Ae Tapparat, who after many years cheffing in Bangkok's 5 star hotels and restaurants returned to their first love of street food to which headchef Ting has developed his own style."
On the menu you can expect to find the likes of delicious Pad Thai, Massaman curry and Pad See-Ew, Asian salads, rice and noodle dishes.
