Three teenagers arrested following fight and robbery in Ashton town centre

Three teenagers have been arrested following dawn raids in Tameside.

The boys - two aged 16 and one aged 17 - are being quizzed in connection with a robbery and also a fight in Ashton-under-Lyne.

Both incidents took place in Autumn last year.

Police were called to Ashton Market on October 3 to reports of a personal robbery.

Less than two weeks later, there was a fight outside the McDonald's in the town centre.

On Monday morning, police executed warrants at three addresses - two in Dukinfield and one in Ashton.

One 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of robbery, the other on suspicion of violent disorder.

A 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of both robbery and violent disorder.

All three remain in custody for questioning.

Inspector Lee Derbyshire posted on the GMP Tameside North Facebook page: "Early start this morning with the team and district colleagues for arrest attempts in relation to a PC Marsden investigation into robbery and violent disorder offences in Ashton town centre in Oct 2019.

"Three youths arrested at different addresses, interviews to follow."
