Police have arrested and charged a woman and a teenager after a fatal New Year’s Day attack in Erskine.
We told how police swooped on Park Drive in the Renfrewshire town at around 12.55pm yesterday.
A 21-year-old man was found dead at the scene.
Officers and forensic teams have continued to comb the area as their investigations into the attack continue.
The street has been shut down by police since Friday afternoon.
On Saturday officers revealed that three people had been arrested in connection with the incident and that enquiries were continuing.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Three people have been arrested after a 21-year-old man died in Erskine yesterday.
“Officers were called to the Park Drive area around 12.55pm following reports of an assault.
“There will be a police presence in the local area and enquiries are continuing.”
Police then provided an update at 7pm on Saturday confirming further details.
A 27 year-old woman was charged in connection with the death.
Meanwhile an 18 year-old man has been charged with assault.
A 21 year-old man was arrested but has since been released without charge.
The teen and woman are expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday, January 5.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 27 year-old woman has been charged in connection with the death of a 21-year-old man in Park Drive, Erskine on Friday, January 1 2021.
"A 18 year-old man has been charged with assault.
"A 21 year-old man has been released without charge.
"The man and woman are expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday, January 5 2021."
