The Masked Dancer fans gobsmacked as Bonnie Langford, 56, unveiled as Squirrel

The Masked Dancer's Squirrel has finally been revealed and it is none other than singer and actress Bonnie Langford.

The judges - Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross, Oti Mabuse and guest star Holly Willoughby could not believe their eyes as Bonnie took off her mask.

Squirrel had been doing the splits and other incredible dance moves throughout the night, tricking the judges into thinking she was someone a lot younger.

Mo was super shocked when she turned around to face the judges, shouting: "I didn't see that coming!"

Holly admitted she was impressed with Bonnie's moves as she moved around the stage so effortlessly.

Bonnie, 56, came second place - with Carwash (Louis Smith) beating her to the first spot.

The actress said it was the show's original version - The Masked Singer - that made her want to take part.

She said: "Why not! I love the Masked Singer and this seemed even more crazy."

Bonnie revealed the reason behind her sweet character.

"She’s cute and sassy. I think she has a soft nature but acts big because she’s small. She’s feisty and fun," the singing legend explained.

The songstress shared that her game plan for the show was to "just move like a girl band member as much as possible" - and it appeared to work.

Fans took to Twitter to share their excitement as they realised it was Bonnie under the mask.

One person shared: "Bonnie Langford is such an advert for women in their 50s!!!! AmaZING!!"

A second commented: "Watching Howard and Bonnie.... there's hope for all of us over 40s!!!! Wow."

"OMG! @MaskedSingerUK #Squirrel #maskeddanceruk is legend and National Treasure, @bonnie_langford. Congratulations! Could we love you any more?" a third added.

Elsewhere in the show, Carwash beat fellow finalists Zip, Squirrel and Scarecrow to be crowned the winner of the first ever series.

Zip was unmasked as Take That star Howard Donald, while EastEnders actress Tamzin Outhwaite shocked guest panelist Holly Willoughby when she revealed she had been performing as Scarecrow.
