The bike podcast: Cycle cafes, recumbents and Chris Boardman

At least three cycle cafes have opened in London so far this year, offering cyclists a nice cup of tea and a sit down while they get their brakes tweaked. Francesca Panetta takes to her Brompton to find out what's behind the trend for mixing baked goods and bicycling.

Helen Pidd
talks to one of the UK's all time greatest cyclists, Chris Boardman. Since retiring from professional cycling ten years ago, he has divided his time between commentating and bike design, working with the British cycling team on research and development in his famous Secret Squirrel Club and also lending his name to a range of bikes sold in Halford's. Helen caught up with him at the launch of his latest invention - a brand new selection of women's bikes which are available in shops from May.

Finally, Peter Walker abandons his road bike to try a very different kind of machine – a recumbent tricycle.
