Washington (AFP) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday hailed US support and received promises of more, including new missile defense systems, after he flew to Washington on his first foreign trip since Russia's invasion.

Beyond weapons and ammunition, Ukraine also seeks assurances of sustained U.S. support.

The Kremlin said increasing the supply of US arms to Kyiv will aggravate the devastating 10-month war ignited by Russia’s illegal invasion and “does not bode well” for embattled Ukraine.
