Spurs fans noticed what Jack Roles did before scoring in penalty shoot-out win vs Bayern

Tottenham Hotspur lifted the Audi Cup thanks to a penalty shoot-out win over Bayern Munich.

And there were a few heroes to emerge from the game.

Paulo Gazzaniga saved two efforts as the Lilywhites claimed a 6-5 win on penalties.

But while the goalkeeper gets his plaudits, some fans have been quick to heap praise on youngster Jack Roles who was successful from 12 yards in the shootout.

Although, that's not what has impressed supporters.

As pointed out on Reddit, one fan noticed Roles volunteered to take a penalty which in turn earned the respect of many supporters.

Take a look at some of the responses..

It wasn't just fans who were impressed with Roles' courage as Mauricio Pochettino gave the youngster the nod of approval after his effort found the back of the net.

Here is the Argentinian's response...

Earlier in the summer Roles committed his immediate future to the club by penning a new contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The midfielder made 29 appearances for the Spurs academy side last season - 19 of which coming in the Premier League 2.

There was concern from many of the Tottenham supporters that the 20-year-old would leave the club this summer, after failing to agree a new contract in N17.

However, he has ended speculation over his immediate future by putting pen to paper on a two-year contract and will be hoping to make the step up into Mauricio Pochettino's first team plans during those two years.

And upon signing the deal he said: "Couldn’t be happier to sign a new contract with Spurs. Really looking forward to next season."
