Sean O’Malley ready to start asking for main events after UFC 250 bonus-winning KO

LAS VEGAS – Sean O'Malley beat Eddie Wineland with a first-round knockout Saturday to open up the main card at UFC 250 in Las Vegas.

Take a look inside the fight with O’Malley, who was the second biggest favorite on the card.

Result: Sean O’Malley def. Eddie Wineland via knockout (punch) – Round 1, 1:54
Updated records: O’Malley (12-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC), Wineland (24-14-1 MMA, 6-8 UFC)
Key stat: O’Malley has back-to-back first-round stoppage wins.

O’Malley on the fight’s key moment

“It was a matter of minutes from the beginning of the fight before I cracked him with something. I was longer than him and when you’re as fast and accurate as I am, I’m going to land first and I’m going to land early, and I landed on the button.”

O’Malley on feeling on point

“I was really, really healthy for this fight. I had no injuries. Last fight, I felt I was 95 percent. I had a couple small injuries, but I felt 100 percent in there tonight.”

O’Malley on what he wants next

“It’s kind of up to the UFC. A main event almost sounds right. It sounds like something that should probably get done. We’ll see. Hopefully I’ll sit down with (matchmaker) Sean Shelby and we’ll figure out what’s next, but hopefully a main event sounds nice.”
