Draft buzz is in full throttle with the first round coming up on Thursday, and the rumors are flying. The big story over the weekend for the Raiders was Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden sending the scouting department home. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport gave more reasoning behind the move on Monday.
The next question is: What would be considered a big surprise? There are a lot of scenarios that could play out for the Raiders with them sitting at No. 4, but one thing Rapoport did mention was an offensive lineman. The best linemen in the draft are Jawaan Taylor, Jonah Williams and Andre Dillard, but the Raiders have a small need at guard, and scouts feel Williams could become a Pro Bowler inside.
