A railway group is looking for small and medium-sized business from across the whole of the HS2 route to join a virtual enterprise academy.
SCS Railways – which is a joint venture between Skanska, Costain and STRABAG – wants 'upskill' 150 businesses via a free academy, to give them the tools to work on projects such as HS2.
The initiative will kick off in April and run through until June.
The aim of the academy is to upskill the construction industry, stimulate the supply chain and increase supplier performance.
Participants will learn about key requirements which will help win future work – including on some of the country's major infrastructure projects.
There are 22 modules which will cover topics including HR, health and safety, social value and carbon management as well as innovation, the environment, risk management, finance and commercial awareness.
To take part, businesses must have had a turnover of £1 million for 2019/20 and a core business offering which aligns with the construction industry.
They must also have the ability to demonstrate why they would like to take part in the academy.
In order to access and apply, businesses will need to register on CompeteFor if they haven’t done so already. Registration closes on Tuesday, April 6.
