Raiders sign TE Darren Waller to contract extension through 2023 season

The Oakland Raiders are wasting no time locking up their young superstars as the team signed star tight end Darren Waller to a contract extension through the year 2023, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

Waller has quickly turned into one of the best receiving tight ends in the league. Through five weeks, Waller has caught 37 passes for 359 yards, leading the team in both categories. Waller hasn’t even reached his ceiling yet as he has started just five career games.

While the numbers haven’t been released yet, Waller is expected to get a considerable raise. However, Oakland and the rest of the front office knows that the more Waller plays, the more expensive he is going to get. Look for this to be a very team-friendly deal for the Raiders.
