Police launch public appeal after repeated car theft attempts on Perth street

Tayside Police officers are currently investigating a series of attempted thefts that took place on a Perth street last week.

At around 1.30am on Thursday, May 27 a man was seen to enter one car and attempt to enter others on Linton Terrace.

He was also seen in the driveway of a house in the street, possibly attempting to enter more cars.

The man was described as slim, about 5ft 6, and wearing a dark coloured jacket, jeans, a black baseball cap and carrying a black backpack.

Police say it appears that nothing was stolen but are urging residents on the street to come forward with any surveillance footage they may have.

A Tayside Police spokesperson said: "We have already made extensive enquiries, and would like to ask anyone with private CCTV or video doorbells in the general area to check if they have captured any footage which could assist us.

"We would also like to remind residents to ensure your properties and vehicles are secure, and not to leave anything out on display in your cars.

"If you have any information that could assist our enquiries please call 101 or speak to any police officer.

"Also, information can be given anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.

"Our reference is incident 0180 of May 27."
