Police break up Glasgow student house party in Hyndland area

Police have descended on a house party, with Glasgow students discovered hiding in cupboards.

The incident happened last night after neighbours complained of noise coming from the property in Hyndland into the early hours of the morning.

Officers attended the scene and after banging on the door, the students were warned that it would be broken down if they did not open it, the Daily Record reports.

Fixed penalty notices were handed to the hosts with the gathering of 25 people dispersed.

New rules introduced state that no more than six people can meet from no more than two households at the same time.

In Glasgow, there are further restrictions in place, with people banned from going inside someone else's home.

Meanwhile, the Scottish Government is expected to announce a decision on greater lockdown restrictions being imposed in Scotland early next week.
