Matt Ryan and Julio Jones have been one of the NFL’s top quarterback-wide receiver duos over the last eight years, leading the Atlanta Falcons to four playoff wins and a Super Bowl appearance. At times, the pair has been asked to carry too great of a burden. These days, Atlanta’s offense has plenty of options to go around, though. The Falcons added another very capable weapon in the first round of last year’s draft. Wide receiver Calvin Ridley was their pick at No. 26 overall and so far he’s lived up to his high selection.
According to Pro Football Focus, Ridley had the eighth-highest passer rating when targeted among wide receivers last season at 125.8. He also led all rookie receivers with 10 touchdown catches and 821 yards.
If Ridley can just manage to get his drops under control, he will be a regular Pro Bowler soon, just like his teammates Jones and Ryan.
