Ohio State moves to No. 5 in NFF Super 16 Poll

It’s Sunday, and that means all the college football polls are wowing us all with their new releases for the week. We’ve seen the Amway Coaches Poll keep Ohio State at No. 5, the AP Poll move the Buckeyes to No. 5, and now we get a chance to see where the NFF (National Football Foundation) Super 16 Poll has them.

And … just like the AP Poll, the voters saw enough from Ohio State to move it up one spot past Oklahoma who was sitting at home taking all the action in this week.

After what we’ve seen for four weeks now, it’s not hard to understand why the Buckeyes are beginning to move the public perception needle. The offense looks explosive once again, but this year the defense is more than doing its part, and it’s quite possible this team is a much more complete one than the Big Ten and Rose Bowl Champion 2018 version.

Here’s a look at the rest of the NFF Super 16 Poll:

Of note is the fact that Ohio State has yet to pick up a first place vote at all. Clemson is your runaway leader in first place votes, but the other four teams ahead of the Buckeyes have at least a sniff from one of the voters for the No. 1 slot.

Maybe a convincing win at Nebraska next weekend will convince some to take a more serious look at OSU being in the team picture for the best college football team of 2019.
