Notts County extend unbeaten run but frustrated in Dover draw

Notts County extended their unbeaten run to nine games as they were forced to settle for a goalless draw at home to Dover.

Chances were few and far between in the National League clash which only burst into life before the break when Enzio Boldewijn was denied by Lee Worgan.

Kyle Wootton was then denied on the follow-up as Notts pushed hard for a breakthrough against the visitors who proved difficult to break down.

Notts had some encouraging breaks on the counter-attack in the second half and had a golden chance when Michael Doyle slipped a pass into Wes Thomas who burst clear through on goal.

But the striker was thwarted by Worgan who got down his left to claw it away.

Dover did offer some threat after the break with Inih Effiong spurning their best chance when he cut inside the area but drilled high and wide of goal.

Notts boss Neal Ardley threw on Nathan Tyson and Kristian Dennis in  a bid to find the equaliser, and the former crossed for Kyle Wootton in the final stages but he headed over when unmarked.

And in stoppage time, Boldewijn cracked the foot of the post with a free-kick.
