'Never so excited for a player I know nothing about!' West Ham fans go wild for Sebastien Haller

West Ham United have completed the record £45m signing of French striker Sebastien Haller and it has led to reaction aplenty.

The 25-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the option of a further season.

Haller is the Hammers' fourth signing of the summer after the acquisition of Pablo Fornals from Villarreal for £24m, while Roberto and David Martin have arrived from Espanyol and Millwall respectively on free transfers.

Haller scored 20 goals in 41 matches in all competitions for Eintracht Frankfurt last season and that has West Ham fans excited about the prospect of him taking the field in the capital, while some are shocked that the club has managed to pull off the deal.

The deal for Haller eclipses the £36m fee that West Ham paid for Felipe Anderson in 2018.

After signing the deal, Haller explained: "I think it's a really good opportunity for me to be here.

"I felt this desire to sign me and I'm really happy to sign. It is an ambitious club, a nice club, a nice city and nice fans too.

"For me I can guarantee that I will give 100% for the club because the club has given me this confidence and I will try to give it back every day in every game.

"I know it's a big transfer and there is a lot of expectation around me, and I just want to make people proud of this transfer and I will give everything I have."
