James Wilson is free to go on loan from Manchester United with more than 10 Premier League and Championship clubs having expressed an interested in taking the striker.
A short-term loan to the Championship could be favoured by Lous van Gaal as he would have the possibility of recalling Wilson should he require.
The 19-year-old has fallen out of favour under Van Gaal, having yet to feature in a match-day squad this season.
This is despite the Dutchman sanctioning the sale of the striker Danny Welbeck to Arsenal last summer because of his confidence in Wilson’s potential.
If the England Under-21 striker does depart this would leave Van Gaal with Wayne Rooney and the incoming Anthony Martial, signed from Monaco, as the only No9s in his first-team squad.
United have already let go Robin van Persie, Radamel Falcao, Javier Hernández and Adnan Januzaj.
