Man killed in Englewood shooting

A man was killed in a shooting Saturday in Englewood on the South Side.

The man, 33, was outside a home about 8:15 p.m. in the 5900 block of South Elizabeth Street when a vehicle pulled up in front of him, Chicago police said. Several people got out and opened fire, striking him in the back.

The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about his death.

Area One detectives are investigating.
